It was the start of 2020. Families were still recovering from New Year’s celebrations, expecting another ordinary year. News outlets buzzed with reports of a stunning meteor shower over Germany, spotted by NASA. It caught global attention—beautiful, rare… and ominous.

But then the broadcasts stopped.

The area of impact went silent. The government locked it down immediately, no reports, no press—nothing. Only authorized personnel allowed in or out. It was like the whole thing never happened.

Then the first incidents trickled in. Isolated acts of violence in nearby hospitals. People wrote them off as drug-induced madness or gang violence… until it got worse. Hospitals began to overflow with patients showing strange symptoms—pale skin, empty eyes, and an insatiable hunger.

By the time the government acknowledged the outbreak, it was already too late. Cities erupted into chaos. Sirens blared. Fires raged. Shambling figures flooded the streets—people who should have been dead but wouldn’t stay down. Whatever this was, it spread faster than anyone could fight.

The military scrambled to contain it, their final stand taking place outside the city of Krozky. But even with all their firepower, it wasn’t enough. The horde overwhelmed them.

In the chaos, a single figure slipped through—an elderly woman fleeing the main research facility, clutching stolen data. She disappeared into the night with an unknown driver, vanishing without a trace.

That was three months ago.

Civilization has collapsed. Survivors are scattered, hiding, or lost. Occasionally, a voice cuts through the static on the shortwave:

“Hello? Anyone still out there? It’s been three months since the outbreak. I don’t know who’s left, and I’m not sure I want to. My dad used to say only three types survive something like this: the lucky, the strong, or the crazy. Which one are you? Ah, who am I kidding—no one’s even listening. Last thing I heard, the military told everyone to stay inside, wait it out. Said they’d crush the threat. Yeah… I don’t think we won. It’s all up to you now.”
